Questions people ask
The ones we hear at every walk-through, answered the way we answer them in your kitchen. Each service page has its own underneath.
It depends on the rooms and on what is already in them, so we do not publish a number that would be wrong for your home. The walk-through is free and ends with a one-page plan with real prices for our work — we sell no hardware, so there is nothing else on it. Most homes start with one or two rooms — the kitchen and the hallway, or the living room — and grow from there.
Rarely. Most lights, TVs, speakers, shades and appliances from the last few years can join as they are. The plan tells you exactly which can and which cannot before anything is bought. When something is genuinely missing we say why — and you buy it wherever you like, because we sell no hardware.
Yes. The brain of the house lives in the house. Keypads, lights, routines and the hallway sensor keep working; only the things that live on the internet — streaming, the forecast, a voice assistant — wait for it to come back.
They will not notice it. Every light keeps a switch or a keypad where a switch would be; the TV turns on with whatever you picked up. Nobody needs your phone or an app to live in the house.
Nobody. The brain lives on hardware in your home, not in a cloud. What leaves the house is what you choose to connect — a streaming service, a voice assistant. Who is home, when, and what you watch stays yours. Our own showroom page never shows who is home; yours will not either.
A room is usually a day. A whole home is a few visits over two or three weeks, then two weeks of tuning while you live with it. If we are already remodelling your home as GS Construction, it rides along with the remodel.
We work across the Chicago suburbs: Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Northbrook, Glenview, Des Plaines, Palatine and the towns around them. If you are nearby, ask — we usually say yes.
A bulb that drops off the Wi‑Fi reconnects itself. For everything else there is a person to text, and Mozaika Care keeps the house current and tuned with the seasons. Care is optional; the house keeps working without it.
Service by service
The whole home, as one
The service →Rarely. Most lights, TVs, speakers, shades and appliances from the last few years can join as they are. The plan tells you exactly which can and which cannot before anything is bought.
Yes. The brain lives in your home, not in the cloud. Keypads, lights and routines keep working; only things that live on the internet — streaming, the forecast — wait for it to come back.
That is how most homes grow: the kitchen and hallway first, then the living room, then the bedroom when the projector arrives.
Lighting that follows the day
The service →Yes, and we usually keep them. A keypad goes where it helps; the old switch keeps doing what it did.
By default nothing is coloured — it is warm white to cool white, following the sun. Colour is a mood you choose, and it ends when you say so.
Every light has a physical switch or keypad. Mozaika never takes that away.
Movie night, one button
The service →Most do not. We control it the way its remote does — over infrared — and keep track of whether it is on from what the TV and the devices report.
Not for this. If you later want music in every room, that is its own page.
If someone presses the wrong thing, the room puts itself back when the next device is used. There is also a console lock, if you want one.
Music in every room
The service →That is normal. They do not have to match to play together; the house handles the differences.
They only run during a party, and the party is a switch. Outside it, nothing flickers.
Comfort, shades and air
The service →Yes. Battery shades fit inside most existing frames and need no electrician; wired shades are an option when a remodel opens the wall.
Yes. The house just also knows how to do it.
Keypads, voice, one app
The service →No. Everything has a button. Voice is there if you like it.
The brain lives in your home. What goes out is what you choose to connect — a streaming service, a voice assistant — and nothing else.
Away, and welcome home
The service →From your phones, the way a map app does, and only inside your own home’s brain. It is never shared or shown.
It tells you. What to do next stays your call.
A network that never drops
The service →No. We work behind whatever modem you have.
Sometimes a cable; we are remodelers, so it closes up properly. Often a well-placed access point is enough.
Plan it into the remodel
The service →Yes — every other page here is a retrofit. This one is for when the walls are open anyway.
The same people. One walk-through covers both.
Mozaika Care
The service →No. The house is yours and keeps working without it. Care is for people who would rather not be the IT department.
Only the device states you choose to share for support, only when you ask, never cameras or who is home.
Free, about an hour, at your home

We come over, listen to how you live, and leave you a one-page plan with prices. We sell no hardware — the system is built around what you already have. No pitch, nothing to buy on the day.
